Business Development Director

Our success has resulted in the need for a dedicated business Business Development Director to lead our new business development endeavors. The successful candidate will work to align new business opportunities with PILLAR’s strategic goals, ensuring that opportunities pursued will be those that contribute to the company’s growth, innovation, and capacity-building objectives.

PILLAR is seeking a full-time exclusive Business Development Director to lead and execute our business development endeavors with the objective of taking ownership of PILLAR’s business development and drive the company’s growth through expanding client base, increasing brand awareness, and securing profitable projects that align with our objectives.

Location: Wytheville Office with remote possibilities 2 to 3 days a week.

Position Type: Full-time (40 hours/week).

Compensation: $55/hour ($114,400/year), hourly position (not commission-based), with overtime paid at time and a half for hours over 40/week. Expenses will be covered or reimbursed by the company.

Education and Experience: The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Finance, or a related field, along with a minimum of 5 years of sales or marketing experience in the AEC industry and at least 3 years of supervisory or management experience on a business development team.

Duties and Responsibilities: In this role, you will lead and manage the business development program and team, developing a deep understanding of PILLAR’s story and offerings to identify profitable opportunities. You will cultivate strategic partnerships to drive business growth, build strong relationships with current and potential clients, and identify key decision-makers within client organizations. Additionally, you will assist in preparing and responding to requests for proposals (RFPs), collaborate with the marketing team to develop lead generation strategies, and represent PILLAR at industry events and conferences. Regular updates and actionable insights will be provided to the executive leadership team, and you will utilize industry networks to identify opportunities and connections for PILLAR.

Skills, Characteristics, Requirements: The successful candidate will have proven experience in business development, sales, or marketing, along with strong sales strategies and closing abilities. Proficiency with various computer programs and software, familiarity with government procurement processes, and excellent communication and negotiation skills are essential. Leadership, management, and mentoring abilities, along with integrity, dependability, and strong organizational skills, are also required.
